So, the storage market is now “Open for Business,” but what are the main paths?  With over 1 GW of energy storage now deployed in the US, achieving the ESA vision of 35 GW by 2025 will require expanding into new applications, as well as exploring use cases that have yet to be fully addressed. This session will present key emerging applications, associated technical performance requirements, and technology implications which will drive the 35 GW by 2025 vision. The session will also dive deeply into designs that can facilitate buildings as grid resources and their market potential, storage as “non-wires alternatives” on distribution infrastructure, new opportunities to do the same at the transmission level, and wind and storage combination opportunities.
