Regional Clean Energy Advocates

Room: 304
Date: Friday, April 20, 2018
Time: 1:15PM - 2:15PM EDT

State and regional clean energy advocates nationwide increasingly see energy storage as part of their mission to make progress on low carbon energy. As a result, these organizations are beginning to define specific policy goals to enable storage and build advocacy strategies around them. Meanwhile, California and New York host their own dedicated energy storage advocacy organizations that have pioneered regulatory and legislative pathways for others to follow. What storage policy goals motivate clean energy advocates? What strategies have worked? What can energy storage advocates and clean energy advocates teach each other? And where do these organizations see the next significant challenges and opportunities for the storage industry? This session will bring together a number of voices from across the country to explain their goals and approaches, share insights on what’s worked, and point the way to the next opportunities.
