Principal Engineer Director

Ken Boyce is Principal Engineer Director, Energy & Power Technologies at UL. He is UL’s technical leader overseeing global standards development and technical operations for renewable energy, batteries and energy storage systems, advanced grid infrastructure, EV systems and related equipment.  Ken is active in standards and code development, and serves as the Chairman of NEC Code Panel 1. He represents UL in numerous global energy initiatives such as the IECRE Scheme, and Chairs UL’s Renewable Energy Council.  He collaborates with National Laboratories and academia to advance energy science through leading significant research.  Ken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, is a Professional Engineer, and is a Corporate Fellow at UL.
