Tim Yeskoo is a PhD candidate in the Atmosphere Energy Program at Stanford University. His research is on optimization techniques that enable higher amounts of renewable energy on the electric grid. He recently created a distributed energy resource portfolio model that presents non-wires alternatives for enabling capacity deferment, duck curve smoothing, and more solar on the distribution grid. He is currently working on behind-the-meter energy storage operation strategies that balance the needs of customers and utilities. Tim has worked as a consultant for Advanced Microgrid Solutions, SolarCity, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the US Air Force. He holds a BA in Physics and Geography from Colgate University and a MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford.
